Digital Desk: MS Dhoni, the four-time IPL champion and India's most famous cricket captain, was named Viacom18's brand ambassador on Wednesday. Dhoni, one of the world's most admired cricketers, will participate in multiple network initiatives that will air on JioCinema, Sports18, and his social media accounts.
Dhoni expressed his excitement to be a part of the firm and lauded JioCinema. He stated that JioCinema is elevating the offering through engaging with fans.
"I honestly feel that watching sports is best appreciated when you can watch it on the go or from the comfort of your own home, but with interactivity, choice, and personalization, which only a digital platform can provide," Dhoni added.
"JioCinema is taking the notion to a whole new level by engaging with fans in ways that no one could have imagined. "I can't wait to be a part of this paradigm shift and to see what the future of sports viewing looks like," he added.
Viacom18 CEO Anil Jayraj greatly commended the Chennai Super Kings skipper calling him 'humble' and 'grounded'.
"MS Dhoni's leadership and game-changing powers are well-documented, but his humble and grounded attitude resonates with digital natives who appreciate authenticity and transparency," said Anil Jayaraj, CEO of Viacom18 Sports. "Dhoni has set unrivalled standards and evolved at a rapid pace, which coincides with our vision and proposition for how sports viewing is best enjoyed on digital."
Swaminathan Sankar, Dhoni's manager, stated that the wicketkeeper batter continues to scale higher with this breakthrough digital-first offering.
"The heights MS Dhoni continues to reach stem from his intrinsic ability to adapt and create, which makes him an ideal fit for Viacom18's ground-breaking digital-first products," stated Swaminathan Sankar, MS Dhoni's Manager (Midas Deals). "Dhoni's pan-India appeal will strengthen the network's desire to reach every possible cricket fan and sports viewer", he stated.
