Digital Desk: Indian Cricket Squad's one of the finest cricketers Deepak Chahar has used his own funds to start his own sports brand, DNINE Sports. This is less than a year after launching his fantasy sports app. The sports line would cost Rs. 2.5 crore and will sell items such as cricket shoes, apparel and accessories, and so on.

The cricketer and his father, Lokendra Singh Chahar, will be co-founders of LCDC Athletics Private Limited.

The company has launched a line of cutting-edge items aimed at meeting the specific needs of athletes, especially professional cricketers.

Deepak Chahar, the brand's founder, is the first international athlete to design his own cricket shoes, investing 18 months in research and development to produce the best cricket shoe. These cricket spikes and rubber studs are poised to change the game's performance and safety. DNINE Sports shoes are not only technically better, but they are also recommended by worldwide physiotherapists, coaches, and athletes, indicating that they can assist in reducing injuries and improving muscle recovery.

Chahar while conversing with Mint stated that the company is not looking for external financing at the moment and that its athletic shoes business might potentially break even by year two. It will also sell health supplements manufactured by a third party, Weolive.

Conversely, the company's shoes and other gear will be produced by contract manufacturers in Rishikesh and Dehradun.

"The concept was to develop affordable products for young and aspiring athletes." Many young cricketers cannot afford to spend money on high-quality equipment, which can have an impact on their game and even cause injuries," claimed the IPL bowler. In the most recent season, the company sponsored certain rising first-class cricketers and IPL players, and it aims to grow its support in the upcoming season. It already sells its items online and in stores.

Chahar appears to be following in the footsteps of Virat Kohli, who has successfully established his own brand 'One8' in collaboration with Cornerstone Sports LLP. The licensee brands provide athleisure clothes, fragrances, footwear, and operate restaurants and pubs.
