Digital Desk: Cristiano Ronaldo, the legendary Portuguese forward, has made headlines once again, but this time off the football field. The football icon has set a new record as the fastest person to reach 21 million subscribers on YouTube, achieving this milestone merely a day after launching his channel, ‘UR • Cristiano’. Ronaldo surpassed the previous record-holder, Hamster Kombat, who took seven days to hit the same subscriber count.

In a recent Instagram post, Ronaldo proudly shared a video of himself with his children, holding a gold "play button" plaque awarded by YouTube for surpassing one million subscribers.

The caption read, “A gift for my family. Thank you to all the SIUUUbscribers!”

This achievement highlights Ronaldo’s influence beyond football and underscores his ability to captivate audiences across various platforms.

Ronaldo’s social media presence is immense, with 112.6 million followers on X (formerly Twitter), 170 million on Facebook, and a staggering 636 million on Instagram, making him one of the most followed individuals globally. His appeal extends far beyond the football pitch, demonstrating his broad impact on popular culture.

At 39 years old, Ronaldo remains a prominent figure both on and off the field. Currently, he plays for Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League, where he continues to showcase his footballing skills. Despite a challenging year in 2024, Ronaldo’s club performance has been notable. He has scored 49 goals and provided 13 assists in 47 matches for Al Nassr. However, the team recently fell short in the Saudi Super Cup final, losing 4-1 to Al Hilal, though Ronaldo managed to score in that match.

On the international stage, 2024 has been more challenging for Ronaldo. He led Portugal in the Euro 2024 tournament, but the team was eliminated in a heart-wrenching penalty shootout loss to France. Ronaldo played all five matches but did not score, marking a rare drought in his storied career.

Despite these on-field setbacks, Ronaldo’s record-breaking success on YouTube and his substantial social media following affirm his status as a global icon. His latest achievement adds to his impressive list of accolades, proving that Ronaldo’s influence extends far beyond the football pitch.
