Digital Desk: Team India's middle order batsman Suryakumar Yadav retained his top spot in the latest released ICC T20I rankings for batsmen. Suryakumar remains number one and has equaled his career-high rating points, while he is only two points below Virat Kohli's record of 897 rating points, the highest ever by an Indian player.

Unfortunately, he will not be able to surpass Kohli's feat anytime soon, as India will not play any more T20I matches in 2022. The final match in the shortest format this year was the third T20I against New Zealand.

The 32-year-old had scored a century against New Zealand in the second T20I, pushing him to the top of the charts, but he was dismissed for a paltry 13 runs in the subsequent game.

Suryakumar has gained 31 rating points during the series, and his 890 points put him 54 points ahead of Pakistan's Mohammed Rizwan, who is ranked second.

On the other hand, Hardik, who led India in the series against New Zealand, climbed to joint-50th among hitters courtesy of his unbeaten 30 in the final match.

In the bowlers' rankings, veteran pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar has risen two spots to 11th, while left-arm seamer Arshdeep Singh has risen one spot to 21st. Spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has risen eight places to 40th.

The talisman Virat Kohli has risen to number six in the ODI rankings, while captain Rohit Sharma has remained at position eight.

The injured Jasprit Bumrah, who is 11th, is the top-ranked Indian on the bowlers' list.
