• ICC Test India Rankings: India drops to third place, Australia at the top spot

    Digital Desk: Australia has overpowered India by securing the top spot in the ongoing ICC Test series. The ICC Test India rankings paved a sad way for all Indian cricket fans. Australia secured the top position after a 4-0 thrashing of England.  Moreover, India has reached the third place after losing the three-match Test series against South Africa by 2-1. After winning the day Test in Centurion, India took a leading charge.  South Africa made a comeback and triumphed the second match by eight wickets in Johannesburg. The last match was bested by the Dean Elgar-led side by seven wickets, supporting the team's home sequence win record against India at 100 %. South Africa's 2-1 win over India took them one spot up to fifth place, while England was in fourth place after a catastrophic drive. India failed to maintain the top place by losing the second and third Tests after winning the foremost in Centurion. Last year, they failed in three Tests, including the bitter loss in the World Test Championship (WTC) final against New Zealand. The South Africa tour was the last series for India under the captainship of Virat Kohli. After the defeat of India against South Africa, Kohli announced that he had stepped down as the captain of the Indian cricket team for the Test series. Moreover, Pakistan has dropped down by one place to the sixth position. Sri Lanka, West Indies, Bangladesh, Zimbabwe, Afghanistan, and Ireland retained their ranks.
