Digital Desk: Rohit Sharma smashed a record-breaking century against Afghanistan in the ICC World Cup 2023 in Delhi's Arun Jaitley Stadium on Wednesday, October 11. With his seventh century, Rohit not only overtook Kapil Dev to record India's fastest ODI World Cup century but also broke Sachin Tendulkar's significant record for most centuries in ODI World Cup history.
Kapil set the previous mark in 1983 in England during the World Cup when he scored a century in 72 balls against Zimbabwe. Rohit broke the record with a 63-ball hundred. In addition, the Men in Blue were able to comfortably chase down a challenging 273-run mark against Afghanistan in their second World Cup 2023 match thanks to the Indian captain's 31st ODI century.
