Digital Desk: Team India defeated New Zealand in the first One Day International at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad by 12 runs thanks to huge innings from Shubman Gill and a four-wicket haul from Mohammed Siraj. India chose to bat first, and after Shubman Gill scored 208 and reached his first double-century, the team scored 349/8 in 50 overs. After that, New Zealand got off to a poor start by losing quick wickets, but Michael Bracewell and Mitchell Santner (57), who opened up a massive partnership, helped the visitors get back into the game. Mohammed Siraj, though, made two strikes, got rid of Santner and Henry Shipley in one over, and put considerable pressure on New Zealand.
