Digital Desk: Indian cricket team fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah stunned during their Sunday Cricket World Cup 2023 match against England in Lucknow by taking two wickets in two balls.

On the fifth ball of the fifth over, Bumrah obtained a way to score as Dawid Malan chopped a delivery straight onto his stumps. India was unable to score a large total, thus it was a significant wicket, and Bumrah's reactions showed how passionate he was. On the very next delivery, the fast bowler struck again, trapping seasoned batsman Joe Root LBW on an in-swinging ball that left him perplexed.

India fell to 229-9 by England bowlers under David Willey, despite captain Rohit Sharma's 87.

Left-arm quick Willey recorded figures of 3-45, including the valuable wicket of Virat Kohli for a nine-ball duck, when England decided to bowl at Lucknow in an attempt to salvage a win and preserve their remote chances of qualifying for the semi-finals.

England looked like a different by strong showing from the fielders, who threw themselves around to deny runs. Fast bowler Chris Woakes and leg-spinner Adil Rashid both took two wickets.

The 2019 winners, who have lost four of their last five games, are at the bottom of the 10-team standings.

Before taking Willey's third wicket, Suryakumar Yadav produced a valiant 49, but the tail was outplayed for the entire fifty overs.

After losing three early wickets to fall to 40-3, the undefeated hosts sought to rally with Rohit and KL Rahul, who put up 39 runs, in a 91-run partnership.

When Rohit was ruled out for LBW by Mark Wood on 33, he was offered a reprieve, but the opener overturned the call after tracking revealed the ball would have missed the leg stump.

The virtually full 50,000-seat stadium erupted in cheers when Rohit achieved his second fifty of the tournament. He also hit a century against Afghanistan.

Before Willey broke the stand with Rahul's wicket, Rohit and Rahul, who was making his way back to his IPL home stadium after suffering a devastating injury earlier this year, held the score close.

While Rohit remained in the battle, he was caught by Liam Livingstone's low catch at deep mid-wicket by Adil Rashid's leg spin.

However, the fielder's leg jarred on the surface, injuring his knee.

Following medical attention, Livingstone was able to resume his activities.
After suffering his 16th duck in ODIs, Kohli is only one hundred runs short of matching the record of 49 hundred in the 50-over format held by the legendary Sachin Tendulkar.

With 354 runs scored in six games at this World Cup, former skipper Kohli has been in excellent form.
