India lose to Bangladesh by one wicket in the opening ODI of the three match series
Victory appeared to be out of reach for the hosts, who were reduced to 136/9 in the 40th over.
Digital Desk: Bangladesh began the three-match One-Day International series with a thrilling one-wicket victory over India in Dhaka. Mehidy Hasan emerged as the evening's standout performer, dragging Bangladesh from a precarious position to help them complete the 187-run chase with four overs to spare. Victory appeared to be out of reach for the hosts, who were reduced to 136/9 in the 40th over.

However, Hasan took command and delivered some heavy strikes as Bangladesh edged closer to the target. He subsequently completed the innings with the penultimate ball of Deepak Chahar's 46th over. Apart from him, skipper Litton Das contributed 41 runs and formed an important partnership with Shakib Al Hasan, who scored 29.

Earlier, Shakib and Ebadot Hossain bowled India out for 186 in 41.2 overs after they were invited to bat first. The all-rounder finished with a five-wicket haul, while Hossain took four. KL Rahul was the Indian camp's outstanding batsman, striking 73 from 70 balls.
