India record their biggest win by runs in Test cricket history, thrash England by 434 runs

The two Mumbai batters forged an unbeaten 172-run partnership off just 158 balls as India declared their second innings at 430/4. Jaiswal remained unbeaten on 214 runs off 236 balls.

Digital Desk: India crushed England by 434 runs at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot to take a 2-1 lead in the five-test series on Sunday. In the history of Test cricket, this is India's largest-ever victory in runs. On the fourth day of the third Test, England tried to chase down a 557-run target but were dismissed for 122 in 39.4 overs owing to a five-wicket haul from Ravindra Jadeja. In the first innings, the local boy hit his fourth century in a Test match.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, who was forced to retire due to a back spasm after reaching his third century in Test cricket on Day 3, came out to bat again and hit a brilliant 231-ball double century. Sarfaraz Khan, making his debut, was also brilliant, striking 68 off 72 balls without falling. India declared their second innings at 430/4 after the two Mumbai batsmen combined for an unbeaten 172 runs off just 158 balls. Jaiswal remained unbeaten on 214 runs off 236 balls.

With 12 sixes, the 22-year-old opener tied the record held by 28-year-old Wasim Akram for most sixes in a single Test innings. In addition, he became the only Indian player to score more than 150 after his first three hundred.
