• India vs Pakistan T20 WC: "If You Ask Me, We Will Win," says Pakistan Captain Babar Azam

Lahore: Pakistani international cricketer Babar Azam is certain that Pakistan will defeat India in its opening match of the T20 World Cup. Both the teams will face each other after almost two years.

Fans are excited about the upcoming T20 World Cup opening match between India and Pakistan. Azam made confident remarks ahead of the match.

Pakistan is still to register a victory against India in the World Cups – 50 over and T20. However, Azam considers the experience of playing various games in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) would provide his team with the coveted advantage.

"We know the pressure and the high strength of each match, especially the opening one. Surely, we can win the competition and take the momentum ahead. We've been playing cricket in UAE for the past 3-4 years. We know the requirements remarkably well. We know how the wicket will work. On the day who plays the better cricket, wins the match. If you ask me, we will win," stated Pakistan player Babar Azam.

While speaking to International Cricket Council, the Pakistan captain stated his team understands the role of the pitch very well. The batsmen would be capable of making modifications, respectively.

Pakistan skipper Babar Azam also stated, "As a team, our spirit and confidence are very high. We are not thinking of the past but the future. We are planning for that. I am completely confident that we are fully prepared and will play good cricket on the day."

Cricketer Babar Azam has led Pakistan in 28 T20I competitions. They have an exceptional performance record in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Pakistan has never won a World Cup match across both One Day International (ODI)s and Twenty20 International (T20I)s against India. However, Azam is calm, stating it is a matter of the past.
