The news of Bumrah missing the second match against Nepal emerged, with the pacer deciding to be with his wife Sanjana during the birth of their child.
Digital Desk: Indian cricket team pacer Jasprit Bumrah and his wife Sanjana Ganesan have been blessed with a baby boy on Monday morning. Bumrah, who took time off from his Asia Cup 2023 duties to be with his wife, posted a sweet message on Instagram to announce the birth of the baby boy.
Bumrah also disclosed the child's name, "Angad," in the social media post. "Our little family has grown & our hearts are fuller than we could ever imagine! This morning we welcomed our little boy, Angad Jasprit Bumrah into the world. We are over the moon and can't wait for everything this new chapter of our lives brings with it," Bumrah captioned the post on Instagram.
He made a comeback to international cricket after nearly a year-long hiatus due to a back injury.
He shined during a T20I series against Ireland and was subsequently selected for the Indian team for the Asia Cup. Bumrah played in India's opening match against Pakistan, however, he was unable to bowl because of the match's cancellation owing to heavy rain in the second half.
Bumrah decided to stay with his wife Sanjana during the birth of their kid, and later it was announced that he would miss the second game against Nepal. Bumrah, though, will rejoin the Indian team and be ready for selection after the Super 4 stage.
