Digital Desk: Indian javelin star Neeraj Chopra lately expressed that he felt overwhelmed to fulfil the wish of legendary player Milkha Singh. Chopra stated that he felt great after winning gold at Tokyo Olympics 2020, representing India.
Legendary athlete Milkha Singh wished to see India bring the great laurel back through participation in the field or track.
Currently, the star player Neeraj Chopra is in California. He is practising for the upcoming 2022 World Athletics Championships, Commonwealth Games and Asian Games.
"It was an overwhelming experience of fulfiling the wish of legendary athlete Milkha Singh. He has motivated so many individuals of this nation. He has also made our nation proud on numerous events, and it's important to remember him at such a big event," said Neeraj Chopra.

"It was his dream to see an Indian athlete winning gold at the Olympics. I recalled his words at that moment. I wished that he should have been with us to see his dream coming true," he added.
Milkha Singh represented India at the 1956 Olympics in Melbourne, the 1960 Olympics in Rome and also the 1964 Olympics in Tokyo. He was the initial Indian athlete to claim a gold medal in the individual athletics category at the Commonwealth Games before the sprinter's record was broken in 2010.
On Neeraj Chopra, he won the gold medal on August 7. Blown and impressed by Chopra's participation, the Athletics Federation of India decided to declare August 7 as National Javelin Day.
