Saudi Arabia Declares Holiday After Shock Win Over Argentina

The decision was made in the middle of the Gulf nation's final exams, which means they will need to be postponed.

    Digital
    Desk:
Following the national football team's 2-1 victory against Argentina at
the FIFA World Cup, Saudi Arabia has proclaimed tomorrow a public holiday.
Saudi King Salman declared today that tomorrow will be a holiday for all
employees, public and private. Additionally, schools will be closed.

    The
decision was made in the middle of the Gulf nation's final exams, which means
they will need to be postponed.

An advisor to the Royal Court and the
chairman of Saudi Arabia's General Entertainment Authority, Turki al-Sheikh,
made the announcement on Twitter that Tuesday will see free entrance at the
city's top theme parks and entertainment venues.

    Due
to goals from Saleh Al-Shehri and Salem Al-Dawsari at the Lusail Stadium in
Doha, Saudi Arabia overcame an early Lionel Messi penalty to produce one of the
    greatest World Cup upsets.

After the final whistle, revellers broke out in spontaneous
dancing circles throughout the capital Riyadh and waved the national flag with
a sword on it from the windows of moving cars.
