Serious Security Threat to Virat Kohli, RCB Cancel Practice Session: Report

THE REASON BEHIND THE CANCELLATION OF  THE PRACTICE SESSION WAS NOT ANY TERROR THREAT BUT ITS BECAUSE OF THE HEAT WEATHER IN AHMEDABAD. WE HAVE GIVEN THE UPDATE ON THIS NEWS IN OUR NEXT POST.

Upon receiving the police's information, one of the IPL franchises,
either Bengaluru or Rajasthan, acted promptly by canceling all scheduled commitments for the day, prioritizing safety.

Digital Desk: Ahead of the IPL 2024 Eliminator clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Rajasthan Royals (RR), reports have emerged indicating that RCB had to cancel their sole practice session due to security concerns, particularly surrounding Virat Kohli's safety. The scheduled practice session at the Gujarat College Ground in Ahmedabad on Tuesday was abandoned, leading to speculation among many over this unexpected turn of events.

According to Anandabazaar Patrika, RCB refrained from holding a pre-Eliminator press conference also due to security apprehensions, leaving several puzzled by the unusual move. The Gujarat Police reportedly indicated that the cancellation of both the practice session and the press conference was primarily motivated by concerns regarding Virat's security. Additionally, four individuals were reportedly apprehended in Ahmedabad on suspicion of involvement in terrorist activities.

Upon receiving the police's information, one of the IPL franchises, either Bengaluru or Rajasthan, acted promptly by canceling all scheduled commitments for the day, prioritizing safety. Meanwhile, the other proceeded with their planned activities.

Vijay Singha Jwala, a police officer, emphasized the significance of Virat Kohli's security, labeling him a national asset. Consequently, RCB opted not to take any risks, informing the authorities of their decision to forgo the practice session. Rajasthan Royals were also briefed about the situation, but they opted to proceed with their practice session without any hindrance.

Reports further claimed that security measures outside RCB's team hotel were beefed up, with even IPL-accredited personnel reportedly barred from entering. Allegedly, a 'green corridor' was arranged for Rajasthan Royals to transit to the training ground. Some players, including R Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Riyan Parag, chose to remain at the hotel and skip practice. Skipper Sanju Samson arrived at the ground later than scheduled.

With strict security protocols in place, heightened measures are anticipated for the IPL 2024 Eliminator between RCB and RR on Wednesday.
