Not Dua Lipa, but...: Star-Studded Performers for Cricket World Cup 2023 Final Revealed

Cricket World Cup Final 2023: There were rumours that pop star Dua Lipa may be one of the performers at the title clash...

Digital Desk: As the cricket fever intensifies ahead of the highly anticipated Cricket World Cup final in Ahmedabad, fans were abuzz with speculation about a potential performance by pop sensation Dua Lipa. However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) put the rumors to rest by releasing the official list of performers, revealing that Dua Lipa will not be gracing the stage at the title clash between the Rohit Sharma-led Indian cricket team and five-time champions Australia on Sunday.

Despite the absence of the international pop star from the lineup, the final promises to be a spectacle, featuring performances by singer Jonita Gandhi, music composer Pritam Chakraborty, and Akasa Singh, according to the BCCI.

Former Indian cricket team head coach Ravi Shastri, who has been closely following India's journey in the tournament, expressed confidence in the Men in Blue's ability to clinch the title. "India will win the World Cup. They will start playing in the World Cup final as the favorites. They don't have to do anything different; they just have to continue what they are doing in the last two games," Shastri said, emphasizing the importance of composure and calmness under pressure.

In a unique interaction with the semi-finalists of the World Cup 2023, Dua Lipa shared insights and answered questions from cricketers like Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, and Kane Williamson. When asked about her potential song for the World Cup opening and closing ceremony, she revealed that it would be the hit song 'Physical.'

Adding to the excitement, the Indian Air Force is set to elevate the grandeur of the final with a spectacular air show at the Narendra Modi Stadium. The Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team will dazzle spectators for ten minutes before the commencement of the final match, with rehearsals scheduled for Saturday, as announced by the Defence PRO for Gujarat.

Both India and Australia secured their spots in the final with impressive semi-final victories against New Zealand and South Africa, respectively. As the Men in Blue aim to end their ICC title drought since the 2013 Champions Trophy, fans can expect a thrilling showdown between two cricketing powerhouses at the Motera area's Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday.
