ICC World Test Championship Final against Australia. India's batting collapsed in the first session despite needing 280 runs and having 7 wickets in hand on the last day due to some outstanding bowling from Scott Boland, Mitchell Starc, and Nathan Lyon.

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma received harsh criticism from Gavaskar, a staunch supporter of Indian batters, for their performance after the game.
"Indian batting was in shambles; it was ridiculous. With this batting lineup, you didn't even make it through a session. C'mon!" Speaking on Star Sports, Gavaskar.
Gavaskar was particularly disappointed with the shot choices made by Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, and Cheteshwar Pujara in India's second innings, which put an end to any chance of a comeback.
"Virat Kohli hit a terrible shot that was outside the off-stump. If you play a shot that is that far outside of the off-stump, how do you get to a century or more innings? Ajinkya Rahane also didn't make a hasty shot all this time, but when he got close to a landmark, he did. "Scott Boland's over broke the Indian batting's back," a disappointed Gavaskar added.
