Virat Kohli bowls in the nets, beats Glenn Maxwell during RCB's special training session: Watch video

Digital Desk: Former captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Virat Kohli, was seen bowling to star all-rounder Glenn Maxwell and captain Faf du Plessis during their net sessions in advance of the eagerly anticipated encounter between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and RCB. On Thursday, May 18, the two teams are scheduled to square off in Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.

The Bengaluru-based franchise's players were observed working hard during their net sessions as they prepared for the important match. Kohli, who is renowned for his great batting abilities, unexpectedly assumed the role of a bowler and was seen bowling some impressive balls to du Plessis and Maxwell.

The franchise even posted a fascinating video of the trio working out hard on their social media accounts.

The team's three batsmen are currently having a fantastic season, dominating the run-scoring rankings in the ongoing IPL 2023, it should be noted. Faf du Plessis, the team's captain, is now in possession of the coveted IPL Orange Cap after scoring an incredible 631 runs in 12 games, including seven half-centuries.

On the other side, Maxwell has consistently shown his lethal best, which has allowed him to amass 384 runs in 12 games and add five half-centuries to his resume. Even though his unconventional batting style has drawn criticism, Kohli has amassed 438 runs at an average of 39.82 in 12 games, including six fifty-plus scores.

With six victories and as many defeats, with a Net Run Rate of 0.166, Faf du Plessis and his team are currently ranked sixth overall in the IPL Points Table. The Men in Red and Gold will be seeking to achieve comprehensive victory to secure their berth in the playoffs with just two games remaining in their group phase campaign.

The team will play their last away game against Hyderabad before coming back to Bengaluru to take on the defending champion Gujarat Titans at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. The Titans, led by Hardik Pandya, were the first group to qualify for the first round of the playoffs.
