Digital Desk: A man wearing a "Free Palestine" t-shirt invaded the pitch during the ongoing Sunday's ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 final between Australia and India. He was seen trying to hug Virat Kohli.

The man was wearing a white t-shirt with the words "Free Palestine" on the back and "Stop bombing Palestine" on the front. He was dressed in red shorts. Additionally, he had on a face mask in the colours of Palestine.

Due to the security breach, the individual was soon caught and taken into custody.

The pitch invasion caused a brief interruption to the match. The play restarted with Virat Kohli and KL Rahul attempting to establish a solid combination for India after losing two wickets in short succession after the intruder was apprehended by security personnel.

Cricket fans gathered at the world's largest stadium Narendra Modi Stadium in Motera, Ahmedabad, for the highly-anticipated India vs Australia World Cup finals.

After winning the toss, Australia chose to bowl first.
