Guwahati : AFI is unhappy with Hima Das’s neglecting attitude shown towards her training who since her return to India in the recently concluded Asian Games has not resumed her training at NIS Patiala which has immensely jeopardized her chances at Tokyo Olympic.

AFI president showed his displeasure on Hima Das by getting in touch with Assam Government officials and complaining about Hima wasting her crucial time in non sporting events.
AFI president Adile Sumariwalla raised the matter with Assam Sports and Youth Welfare Council Member Security Lakhya Konwar, confirming about Hima’s callousness and her giving more interest to social do’s and charity events and have requested Mr Konwar to kindly persuade Hima to return and resume her training as soon as possible. Hima’s training starts from October 18.

The hysteria around her only confirms that she is emerging as first super star outside the cricket in recent year as she has donned cover of several glossy magazines also, something the hardcore sports loathing as they feel that with more hard work, she is destined for greater heights.
The AFI consider her a Tokyo Olympic prospect. But her present timings and the standard of the Olympic besides lack of preparation times has forces AFI to seek intervention of Assam Government. “This is one of the reason Indian athletes do not do well in Olympics” wrote Mr Adile in his messages to Assam Government.

Meanwhile Hima Das has asked for a 45 day break before she resumes her core training. At present she is in Guwahati working on her light fitness, as per reports given by her personal coach Nipon Das.
