After Tamim Iqbal's retirement from T20 Internationals in July, Mushfiqur is now the second player from Bangladesh to do so.
Digital Desk: Bangladesh wicketkeeper Mushfiqur Rahim has announced his retirement from T20 internationals on Sunday.
Rahim played in both of Bangladesh's games during the current Asia Cup, although the Shakib-Al-Hasan-led team was unable to go past the Super 4s round after losing to Afghanistan and Sri Lanka. Rahim announced his retirement on Twitter and stated that he would now focus on ODIs and Tests.
Rahim also stated in his statement that he will be available to participate in franchise leagues when the opportunity comes.
"I would like to announce my retirement from T20 INTERNATIONALS and focus on Test and ODI formats of the game. I will be available to play franchise leagues when the opportunity arrives. Looking forward to proudly represent my nation in the two formats-MR15," he tweeted.

Rahim scored one and four against Afghanistan and Sri Lanka during the Asia Cup.
It is to be noted that Rahim scored 1,500 runs at an average of 19.48 while playing for Bangladesh in 102 T20 Internationals.
