Barcelona's injured attacker is expected to return for El Clasico against Real Madrid

Torres will begin training with the first team at Cashman Field in Las Vegas on Thursday morning to put himself in contention for El Clasico at Allegiant Stadium.

Digital Desk: Ferran Torres would be able to participate in FC Barcelona's third pre-season friendly against domestic rival Real Madrid, according to reports from SPORT. The Spanish forward is anticipated to be cleared for practice on Thursday.

According to Xavi Hernandez, Torres will be available for the Clásico in Las Vegas on July 24th.

The Valencian forward suffered a right foot injury on the first day of pre-season training camp and has since missed the entire pre-season. He did not play in the first friendly against UE Olot and did not play in the second against Inter Miami.

Instead, he joined Gerard Pique, and Robert Lewandowski in the DRV PNK Stadium stands during Barcelona's match against David Beckham's MLS franchise.

Torres will begin training with the first team at Cashman Field in Las Vegas on Thursday morning to put himself in contention for El Clasico at Allegiant Stadium.

Torres also worked in the gym with the Barça medical team to ensure he stays fit throughout the season and does not miss out on essential pre-season programmes due to a lack of fitness.

After a rocky start at the club since arriving in January of this year, the Spanish international is under intense pressure to impress Xavi.

Torres' problems have been exacerbated by Barcelona's acquisitions of Raphinha from Leeds United and Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich. The return to fitness of Ansu Fati, who would theoretically fill a similar role to Torres, would also be an issue.
