Have a glance at the top ten medal-winning countries and territories at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.

Digital Desk: The 11-day Commonwealth Games, which began in 1930 as the British Empire Games, will award 136 gold medals to women, 134 to men, and 10 to mixed events. It will be the third time that the games have been held in England.

India's schedule, performance, and medal count for the Commonwealth Games:

Australia has historically been the most successful country, earning 2,415 medals, followed by England (2144), Canada (1555), and New Zealand (657). With 503 medals, India is fifth on the list. However, India has more gold medals than New Zealand, surpassing them in the overall medal count.

The CWG bar's 2006 edition in Melbourne saw a lot of success for India in this millennium. India's performance at the 2002 Games in Manchester, where they won 69 medals, remains the best outside of their own country. This was the first time they exceeded the 50-medal threshold. India took advantage of the home crowd at the 2010 Games in New Delhi to win 101 medals. India continued their impressive performance by winning 64 and 66 medals in Glasgow and Gold Coast, respectively.

India has won 503 medals overall—181 gold, 173 silver, and 149 bronze—in the course of the Games.

Beginning on July 29, the Birmingham Commonwealth Games will feature lawn bowls as the first sporting event. In the men's triathlon, England became the first country to win a gold medal.
