    The 18-Member Hockey India team named for Sultan of Johor Cup
    Uttam Singh, who participated in India's domestic Junior World Cup campaign in 2021, will serve as captain of the India Colts team.

    Digital Desk: The Indian Junior Men's Hockey Team, which will compete in the Sultan of Johor Cup Malaysia 2022, has been announced by Hockey India. The tournament is set to start on October 22 in Johor Bahru. 

    In this year's edition, which will be held after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the Indian team, which finished their campaign with a Silver medal in 2019 after a hard-fought match against Great Britain, will face off against Australia, Japan, South Africa, hosts Malaysia, and defending Champions Great Britain. 

    Uttam Singh, who played in India's Junior World Cup campaign at home in 2021 and made his Senior team debut at the Asia Cup 2022 held in Jakarta earlier this year, will serve as the team captain for the India Colts.

    Boby Singh Dhami has been selected as the team's Vice Captain. 

    Goalkeepers Mohith HS and Ankit Malik, as well as defenders Amir Ali, Shardanand Tiwari, Rohit, Amandeep Lakra, and Cyril Lugun, have been included in the squad. Vishnukant Singh, Rajinder Singh, Ankit Pal, Poovanna CB, Amandeep, and Johnson Purthy have been chosen as midfielders for this important competition. 

    Captain Uttam Singh will lead the charge in the forward line, alongside Angad Bir Singh, Araijeet Singh Hundal, Vice Captain Boby Singh Dhami, and Sudeep Chirmako.

    India will open their campaign against Malaysia on the 22nd of October, followed by a game against South Africa on the 23rd. After two days of recuperation, India will play Japan on October 25 before facing Australia on October 26. They will face Great Britain on October 28th, with the finals taking place on October 29th. 

    The Indian Junior Men's Hockey Team consists of the following players:
