Speaking to a Pakistani TV channel, Samaa TV, Afridi asked for a proof of Pakistan's involvement in the deadly attack carried out by the Resistance Force, an offshoot of Pakistan-based terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba.
Digital Desk: Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi blamed the Indian army for the horrific terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, that claimed the lives of 27 civilians on April 22, 2025.
Speaking to a Pakistani TV channel, Samaa TV, Afridi asked for a proof of Pakistan's involvement in the deadly attack carried out by the Resistance Force, an offshoot of Pakistan-based terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba.
He also took a jibe at the Indian media coverage of the militant attack.
Afridi said, "Patakha phat jaata hai wahaan par, Pakistan ne kiya." (Even if a firecracker bursts in India, they blame it on Pakistan)
He added, "Tum logon ki 8 lakh ki fauj hai Kashmir mein aur yeh ho gaya. Iska matlab nalayak ho, nikamme ho na tum log security de nahi sake logon ko." (You have an 8,00,000-strong army in Kashmir and this incident happened. It means you are inefficient and useless if you can't provide security to the people)
Afridi also slammed two senior Indian cricketers for blaming Pakistan for the attack without taking their names.
He said that two top cricketers who have played so much of cricket and have been ambassadors also blamed Pakistan.
The Pahalgam terror attack considered one of the deadliest attacks in J&K since the 2019 Pulwama attack, claimed the lives of 28 Indians following an open fire by the Resistance Force (TRF), a local offshoot of Pakistan-based terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba on April 22.
