Digital Desk: The Indian team has put up great performances
at the current Commonwealth Games, which is the key factor in their ranking of
fifth in the medal count. India has won a total of 26 medals to now, including
three gold medals on Friday. Sanket Mahadev Sargar, an Indian weightlifter, won
the silver medal on July 29 after lifting 248 kg in total (113 snatch, 135
clean & jerk). Weightlifter Mirabai Chanu was the first Indian to win a
gold medal, and she was followed in the same event by Jeremy Lalrinnunga and
Achinta Sheuli.
Nine gold, eight silver, and nine bronze medals make up
India's entire collection. The Indian team is now ranked sixth overall in terms
of medals won.
