Digital Desk: Indian Women's Cricket team qualified for the finals at the Commonwealth Games on Saturday by defeating England by a score of four runs. In the championship game, they will take on either Australia or New Zealand. England were restricted to a score of 160 for six in 20 overs while chasing a goal of 165.
Earlier, Jemimah Rodrigues and Smriti Mandhana each contributed knocks of 61 and 44 as India reached 164/5 in 20 overs. In the shortest format, Mandhana recorded India's women's quickest fifty. Harmanpreet Kaur, the captain, couldn't stay at the wicket for too long; she left after scoring 20. Earlier, India lost Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma in quick succession.

Earlier on Saturday, in the first semi-final of the 2018 Commonwealth Games, India captain Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and decided to bat against England. India advanced to the semifinals on Wednesday by defeating Barbados by 100 runs in their last group stage match.
India went on to defeat Pakistan by eight wickets after losing their opener match to Australia by three wickets. Team India ended their Group A campaign with a total of four points while England, on the other hand, finished at the top of Group B.
