Tezpur girl Rodali Baruah, a belt champion in Taekwondo will be part of the Indian women’s Taekwondo team in the upcoming 2018 Asian Games.
Rodali is among the six others from Assam to participate in the Asian Games to be held in Indonesia, Jakarta from August 19 to 28.
The homegirl has brought laurels to the country by representing India in a number of Taekwondo Championships in the +73kg heavyweight category.
She shot to fame after bagging a medal at the National games. She also participated in the Worlds Taekwondo Championships in Korea in June 2017 and won a Gold medal at the 35th National Senior Kyorugi and 8th National Senior Pumche Taekwondo Championships held at Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
Apart from Rodali, six other sports persons from Assam are also about to participate in the Asian Games in their respective disciplines.
Hima Das to compete in athletics, Shiva Thapa in boxing, Asmita Chaliha in badminton, Pramila Daimary in archery, Kabita Devi in fencing and Jonali Dutta in basketball.
