Virat Kohli tested Covid positive after returning from Maldives Vacay

Virat Kohli, a former captain of India, reportedly tested positive for Covid-19 following his trip to the Maldives.

Digital Desk: The BCCI decided to give a break to former Indian captain Virat Kohli for the other five T2OI match series against South Africa.

During the break, he took his wife Anushka Sharma and daughter Vamika on holiday to the Maldives. However, according to the most recent sources, Kohli returned Covid positive following the end of his vacation.

Given that he just traveled to the UK for India's fifth Test match against England, the Delhi-born batsman is believed to have fully recovered from covid.

"The former Indian skipper tested positive for Covid-19 after returning from the Maldives, but he has recovered from the infection, " a national news agency quoted.

More Covid occurrences in the Indian squad are also feared, which might severely blow the Rohit Sharma-led team.

Kohli posted images from India's training session on Wednesday. "Practice well.Stay Happy , Kohli wrote as he shared photos on Twitter.

Ravichandran Ashwin recently missed a flight to the UK after testing positive for the virus. Still, he is reportedly in isolation and will likely join the rest of his colleagues in Leicester, where the Indian contingent is preparing for the fifth Test.

For the uninitiated, a similar circumstance when there was a covid worry in the Indian camp necessitated the early termination of India's trip to England in 2021.

After that, India and England will play a three-match T20I series and an equal number of games in an ODI series. The BCCI then agreed to reschedule the fifth Test match of the series, which will now take place from July 1–5.

All of these intentions, however, could be sabotaged by Covid, and it is unknown if there are any more instances in the Indian camp.
