'6G in India by the end of this decade': PM Modi's big announcement before 5G services begin

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that the government intends to launch a 6G network by the end of 2030.

Digital Desk: As India prepares to welcome the first phase of 5G services, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made another announcement, stating that the country will launch a 6G network by the end of this decade. 

PM Modi announced the 6G Network via video conferencing during his speech at the Smart India Hackathon 2022 Grand Finale.

"Youth can contribute new ideas to promote the use of drone technology in the medical and agricultural fields." We hope to introduce 6G by the end of this decade. The government also encourages Indian gaming and entertainment solutions. Prime Minister Modi stated that "all young people should benefit from the government's investments."

5G official launch in India 

The government has promised that the latest 5G technology will be available and affordable in India soon. According to Union Minister of IT Ashwani Vaishnav, who stated this earlier in the day during a news briefing, the rollout is expected to take place by October of this year.

"The industry has already begun hiring for 5G infrastructure, and 5G services will be available across the country within two to three years." We have requested that the market set reasonable 5G prices. We have the world's cheapest mobile service fee. According to Vaishnav, "we will receive first-rate 5G services."

Vaishnav has also stated that every action required for the rapid implementation of 5G is proceeding at a reasonable pace.

"As you are all aware, the spectrum auction was a success." He also stated that they have been attempting to streamline the right of way and service installation processes.

Cities where 5G will be available in the first phase

5G will first be trialled in 13 major cities across the country. Delhi, Kolkata, Gurugram, Bengaluru, Chennai, Pune, Jamnagar, Chandigarh, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Gandhi Nagar, and Lucknow are among them.
