Digital Desk: Amazon stated on
Wednesday that it will lay off more than 18,000 employees, blaming "the
unpredictable economy" and the fact that the online retail giant
"hired swiftly" during the pandemic.

reductions we made in November and the ones we're disclosing today," CEO
Andy Jassy said in a statement to his employees. In November, the corporation
announced 10,000 layoffs.
