Digital Desk: WhatsApp, a Meta-owned online messaging service, is believed to be working on a new feature that will allow users to pin messages from within groups and conversations. According to WABetaInfo, a new feature would allow WhatsApp users to pin or mark messages from groups or individual chats to the top of the chat. People will be able to pin notifications once the feature is available.
Users will be able to easily access their most important group conversations owing to the bookmarked messages. Pinning messages in chats and groups is reportedly still in the works.
As per reports, WhatsApp is also getting ready to launch a brand-new feature that will simplify phone chats for Android users. With this addition, users may make phone calls directly from the app.
It is reported that the rumoured new function will allow users to make calls and view their contact lists without having to open the app. Users have the option of creating their own shortcuts for commonly dialled numbers. This enabled callers to communicate with one another in real time. The IM software aims to make audio calls as simple as text messages.
WABetaInfo claims that users will find it simple to make calls using the app's calling shortcut function by simply clicking the contact cell in the contact list. Additionally, once the new feature is developed, it is said to automatically be placed to the device's home screen.
In India, the IM service said that 36.77 lakh accounts were banned in November, which is somewhat less than the number of blocked accounts in October.
In India, 13.89 lakh WhatsApp accounts were blocked before they were reported by anybody. In December, about 37.16 million Indian WhatsApp accounts were suspended, 9.9 million of which were suspended on WhatsApp's own initiative.
