Apple Watch Series 8 may have body temperature tracking feature; details here

Samsung also wants to include a body temperature tracking capability in its upcoming Galaxy wristwatch.

Digital Desk: The next-generation Apple Watch Series 8 with body temperature sensing capabilities is currently being tested by Apple. The information comes from TFI Securities’ Ming-Chi Kuo, who claims that a new sensor may be included in the forthcoming Apple Watch.

According to the analyst, Apple is working hard to fine-tune the algorithms in the upcoming smartwatch that will allow users to gauge body temperature. On the other hand, last year’s report of Bloomberg claimed that Apple planned to include a body temperature sensor monitor in Series 7.

“Apple cancelled body temperature measurement for the Apple Watch 7 since the algorithm failed to pass before entering the Engineering Validation Test (EVT) phase last year,” Kuo said.

“The challenge in implementing precise body temperature measurement is that skin temperature quickly varies depending on outside environments,” tweeted Kuo.

Another company, Samsung, wants to include a body temperature tracking capability in its upcoming Galaxy wristwatch, which will be released in the second half of the year. It appears that the algorithm is the problem.

Apple Watch has added several health functions over the years, but the pace has slowed recently. Body temperature monitoring will be an obvious next step if Apple intends to market its smartwatch as a health product. Consider how the feature would affect an older person or a pregnant woman.

This year, Apple is said to be working on three new smartwatches: a new flagship Series 8, an improved version of the Watch SE, and an all-new tough Apple Watch designed for professional athletes. All three new Apple Watch models are scheduled to be released simultaneously with the iPhone 14 without a notch.
