Digital Desk: Twitter has revealed new icons as part of a visual design overhaul for the web, Android, and iOS apps. The new iconography is in line with Twitter's new visual design, which was released in August 2021, and additional icons will be updated in the coming days. The Twitter Design team took to Twitter to announce upcoming changes to Twitter's iconography, which will serve as a modern backdrop for future updates to the microblogging platform's look. Here is a list of all the modifications that will be made to the Twitter icons.

    Twitter releases new iconography

Speaking about the new iconography, the Twitter design team said, "The goal was to develop a consistent set of icons that are bold in shape and style yet accessible and a touch cheeky where appropriate." Twitter just released a new set of symbols that are based on six fundamental design principles.

The redesigned icons have a bolder, more natural look. Some of the examples provided by Twitter also point to a more straightforward strategy for Twitter symbols. The icon's symbolism has been preserved while the curves have been diminished and the outline was given more importance.

Twitter icons, including Home, Explore, Notifications, Messages, Bookmarks, Lists, Profile, Like, Retweet, Quote, and many others have been updated to reflect Twitter's new design languages.
