Via his Instagram account, he encouraged people to conquer challenges and achieve their goals.
Digital Desk: Sujit Varghese, an artist from Kerala who has mobility disabilities, just broke the record for the biggest GPS drawing. After travelling through the streets of Dubai and passing the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall, Varghese smashed the record by covering a distance of 8.71 kilometres in 24 hours. With his GPS sketch, he created a phrase featuring a crippled man in a wheelchair.
Varghese, who became paralysed following a bicycle accident in 2013, used GPS drawing as a way to merge his love of painting and his love of travelling, according to a post on Instagram by Guinness World Records.
He carefully planned his trip and produced the precise picture he had in mind using his wheelchair and a GPS tracker.
Varghese discussed the accomplishment in an interview with Guinness World Records. "It was lovely to create a slogan that is universally understood and goes beyond linguistic boundaries. With Dubai and Guinness World Records, members of a global community of like-minded people, we have delivered a message to the globe, he said, adding that it was wonderful to start from Dubai, the city most rich in values and accessible to influential people.
He gave an encouraging message to people via his Instagram profile to support them in overcoming obstacles and realising their aspirations. Varghese described how his body was in excruciating pain as he pushed the wheelchair to complete his task.
The message he wanted to convey to individuals who were struggling with impairments was that "disability is not the end, but the beginning of a new life." Thus he remained focused and motivated. He continued, "It was intended by a higher power that I become stronger through my trials in life, to give strength to those who need it.
He also expressed his gratitude to everyone who had offered their assistance and support to him throughout his rehabilitation process and helped him achieve his feat.
He concluded by saying that those who have experienced challenging times in their lives shouldn't look for inspiration elsewhere. Instead, they need to look in the mirror for motivation and acceptance since they might be the ones the world looks to for inspiration.
