Digital Desk: Samosa, the popular Indian snack, changed the lives of two people who opened a shop in Bengaluru. Nidhi Singh and her husband Shikhar Veer Singh are both well-educated professionals who, in the past, had secure jobs with big pay packages. But, they decided to start selling samosas and are now making far more money than they did from their high-paying employment.
It has been a difficult but gratifying road for Nidhi and Shikhar, who have been married for five years, to leave everything behind and dive into the startup world. They are currently thinking about starting their company's next phase.
While pursuing their B.Tech. in biotechnology in Haryana, Shikhar Veer Singh and Nidhi Singh first became friends. Shikhar later studied MTech at the Hyderabad-based Institute of Life Sciences. He served as the Senior Scientist of Biocon until he left his position in 2015.
Nidhi, in the meantime, had a different journey planned. She started working in the corporate world and had great success, earning Rs 30 lakh at a pharmaceutical company in Gurugram. She started by earning Rs 17, 000 as a Business Development Associate.
The couple left their employment in 2015, and the following year they opened "Samosa Singh" in Bangalore.

Both Nidhi and Shikha were born into affluent families. Her father is a lawyer. His father is the proprietor of jewellery stores in Ambala and Chandigarh. They nevertheless launched Samosa Singh using their savings because they wanted to achieve something on their own.
But when they required more money and needed a bigger kitchen, they sold off their expensive dream apartment, where they had barely spent one day. They used the proceeds from the sale of the house to rent a factory in Bengaluru.
With their daily income estimated to be in the lakhs, as they believed, their business expanded exponentially.
When Shikhar was a student, he had an idea for the company. He wanted to sell samosas outside State Bank of India (SBI) branches. Nidhi, however, rejected it and suggested that he focus on becoming a scientist instead.
Shikhar was, however, persuaded that his intuition was accurate and that samosas were the most popular snack in India after witnessing a youngster crying for one at a food court one day. When they started their Samosa Singh restaurant, he resigned from his job and relocated to Bangalore.
Later on, the two added more creative samosas to their menu. They are most known for their butter chicken and kadai paneer samosas. About 40 outlets currently exist for them around the nation, and they now have plans to grow their business even further.
