Man beats and stomps on puppy; CM Chouhan assures strict action

Digital Desk: In a shocking incident in Madhya Pradesh's Guna district, a man brutally killed a puppy, sparking widespread curses. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan swiftly termed the act as "barbarism" and pledged strict action against the perpetrator. The assurance came in response to Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia's call for the Chief Minister to address the matter.

The distressing incident unfolded on a Saturday, with the accused apprehended by the police the following day. A video capturing the heinous act went viral on social media, depicting the man callously flinging the puppy to the ground before trampling it to death.

Expressing his concern, Scindia urged Chouhan to take action, emphasizing the need for penalties for such acts of cruelty. The Chief Minister, in response, expressed deep disturbance over the incident, vowing swift and strict measures to ensure justice prevails. Chouhan unequivocally condemned the act of barbarism and assured that the individual responsible, identified as 30-year-old Mrityunjay Jadaun, would face the consequences.

The Guna Kotwali police station promptly arrested the accused, booking him under the Indian Penal Code section 428, which addresses offences related to harming animals. Amidst the unfolding events, questions arose about the mental health condition of the accused, prompting an examination by the authorities.

The incident underscores the importance of addressing animal cruelty and the swift response from both political figures and law enforcement, signalling a commitment to ensuring justice in the face of such appalling acts.
