    Digital Desk: About 2 weeks back a man named Robin Zaccheus uploaded a video on X where he found white worms in Cadbury chocolate. The Telangana State Food Laboratory has confirmed it and in its report, the laboratory said that the chocolate is unsafe for consumption. The reports were later posted by Zaccheus in his X and it took the internet in storm.

    Zaccheus sent the chocolates which he bought from a supermarket in Hyderabad's Ameerpet on February 9, after testing he found white worms in them. 

    He also tagged the Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, Zaccheus, in his X post, said it was high time that FMCG companies were made accountable and penalized for supplying unsafe food that children consume very often. Zaccheus also added, "They must be strictly punished and licenses should be canceled.” 




    He tagged Mondelēz International which owns Cadbury, Cadbury Dairy Milk, and Ratnadeep Retail, and wrote that “Must accept and take complete responsibility for this utter negligence for endangering public health.” He also added, “People to be cautious while consuming these chocolates, especially when we give it to our innocent children.” 



    In reaction, Mondelēz International has maintained that their product is safe for consumption. In a series of posts on X, the international company wrote, “Hi, Mondelez follows the internationally accepted HACCP (Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points) program, which is the most comprehensive food safety system in the world, to ensure that our products are free from any physical, chemical and microbiological issues.”
