Digital Desk: Beauty has no standards, everyone is beautiful and competent in their own way. All we need is courage and dedication to be recognized as someone important. Here's an inspiring story of a girl who will immensely surprise you.

Edelweiss CEO Radhika Gupta who was once bullied for her unusual appearance, eventually discovered that being the 'Girl With a Broken Neck' was what set her apart. "Life must go on despite setbacks," has been Radhika Gupta's catchphrase throughout her career.

After many disappointments, Gupta has made a name for herself in the corporate world as the Chief Executive Officer of Edelweiss Asset Management Limited, a leading asset management company in India.

While she is well-known today for her outstanding accomplishments, she was denied multiple times because of her appearance. People referred to her as "the girl with the broken neck."

Because of her unusual appearance, she endured mockery and bullying from peers, classmates, and even later at work, prompting her to consider suicide. At the time, she couldn't see any hope.

Things began to improve for her when she got a job at McKinsey in 2005. Gupta went on to work with some of the brightest minds before launching her own financial services company in India, which was ultimately bought by Edelweiss Financial Service.

Gupta took to social media platform X on World Mental Health Day, October 10th, to tell more about her story.

She stated in the post, “Five years ago, declaring myself ‘The Girl with a Broken Neck’ changed my life, and also my perspective on mental health. Each one of us leads two lives. One on the front of the stage — what people see, in control, problem-free. And one behind the stage — what no one sees, chaotic, full of heartache, failure and frustration.”
Radhika Gupta, 33, is a successful CEO who believes that one's disability should not stand in the way of one's aspirations.
