Digital Desk: A video of some men purportedly making a puppy drink whiskey has been viral on social media, drawing condemnation from the public and animal rights activists.
In a video, the accused identified as "Sheru Borda" is seen forcing the puppy to drink whiskey from a plastic glass by a bonfire in Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan.
On an outing, the man and his pals seem to be lounging around the bonfire at an empty plot.
The Rajasthan Police Helpdesk on X reported the incident and instructed the local police to investigate the incident. In response to another post on X, the local police stated they would take action.
According to the pet care website "Rover," dogs can get alcohol poisoning just like people do—they just get it faster. This is because their livers aren't made to break down alcohol. In dogs, alcohol consumption can result in dangerously low body temperature, respiratory depression, and lethargy. For puppies, the threat is considerably greater.
Many individuals on social media criticized the man for torturing the puppy to such pain.
"The dog might not survive. These people are inhumane," a user on X wrote, tagging the Rajasthan Police.
Many more people called for action against the men.
