Digital Desk: Fugitive businessman Vijay Mallya returned to the microblogging site X, formerly known as Twitter, for another rare appearance on Sunday. He gave his X fans his warmest wishes for Diwali on this particular occasion. It is well known that Mallya makes these kinds of appearances on bank holidays.

Mallya had investments in a liquor company, an airline, a Formula One team and an Indian Premier League cricket club. However, he ran into trouble when he failed to return millions in loans and left India in 2016 amid attempts by a group of banks to recover the money. The failure of Kingfisher Airlines began Mallya’s descent into debt and triggered the collapse of several of his businesses.

In 2012, the Indian government suspended the airline’s licence as it failed to pay pilots and engineers for months.

Mallya now only posts during holidays or other special occasions. Happy Pongal, Sankranti, Holi, Ugadi, Vishu, Easter, Janmashtami, Ganesh Chaturthi, and Eid, everyone, Mallya wishes you all a happy year. Mallya recently shared a post saying, "Happy Deepavali to all. May you be blessed.”

Several reactions have been sparked by his post on social media. On the bank holiday, Mallya returns! "Happy Deepavali," an ‘X’ user commented. ”The man never fails to wish for a festival, Never but fails to repay taken debt every time. Genius," wrote another.
