Digital; Desk: In a shocking event, Agartala resident Sonai Acharya experienced something disgusting when she ordered a bowl of Japanese ramen from Auntie Fug's through the food delivery platform Zomato. She was expecting a nice supper, but as she opened her miso ramen, she found a dead cockroach in the noodles. The company has responded to the post as well.
According to Acharya, the incident was a "horrific experience". She posted pictures of the bug plainly showing up in her dinner. In her post, Acharya criticized the lack of quality control that permitted this kind of situation to happen, calling the mistake "simply revolting and unacceptable."
"Just had a horrific experience ordering from @Zomato. Ordered Japanese miso ramen chicken from Auntie Fug's and found a cockroach in my meal! Absolutely unacceptable and disgusting Seriously disappointed with the quality control here,” reads the caption.
As Acharya's complaint gained attention, Zomato responded immediately. The company apologized for the event and gave her the assurance that a full investigation would be conducted.
"Hi there, we are sorry to hear about the unfortunate incident. We want to help turn this experience around. Please allow us some time to look into it, we'll get back to you ASAP," Zomato wrote.
It is to be mentioned that this is not the first time such kind of incident reported, there are several complaints reported by various consumers against online food delivery apps.
