Digital Desk: In a heart-wrenching turn of events, a Hardoi resident, Yogesh Kumar (36), took his own life on Tuesday, following the death of his wife, Manikarnika Kumari (28), who passed away in a tragic road accident the previous day. Manikarnika was a paramedic, and the couple had tied the knot just six months ago.
Yogesh, a teacher by profession, left behind a suicide note that read, "We will live together and die together." Manikarnika lost her life in an accident on the Lucknow-Hardoi highway, under the jurisdiction of Sursa police station.
SHO Sursa, Indresh Kumar Yadav, reported that an unidentified vehicle struck Manikarnika while she was riding her scooter to Tadiyawana Primary Health Centre, where she worked as a nurse. The police identified her with the help of her identity card and mobile number and informed her husband.
Upon receiving the news, Yogesh visited the accident site, collected his wife's belongings, and returned home, where he locked himself in a room. A local, who had come to offer condolences, grew concerned when Yogesh didn't respond to knocks on the door. The local subsequently broke down the door and discovered Yogesh had taken his own life.
