Digital Desk: In Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, a group of thieves known as the 'Chaddi Chor' gang have been causing a stir by stealing women's underwear left out to dry on balconies. The community has been left on edge as a series of thefts have been reported in recent weeks, with one woman coming forward to the police about the frequent incidents.
The thefts have taken place in two areas, Vijaynagar (Urban) and Panagar (Rural), with one instance reported in Bilgawan village. Sunita Kori and other villagers filed a complaint about the loss of numerous garments in a single night.
Similarly, in the Vijaynagar area, a masked individual was caught on CCTV scouting the area before making off with undergarments. Kalpit Saraogi, a resident, described a thief on a scooty stealing their belongings, a scene that has been repeated in previous incidents.
Local law enforcement acted quickly on the villagers' complaints, leading to the arrest of Vijay Thakur, also known as Lalu Thakur, a member of the gang. Thakur confessed to discarding the stolen items after stealing them, and authorities were able to recover several pieces of stolen clothing. This is not the first time Thakur has faced charges, as he has a history of similar offenses in the past.
