New Delhi: The Kartarpur Corridor will be inaugurated today by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will be among the first group of 550 pilgrims who will be travelling to Kartarpur. Accompanying him, will be Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh, actor-politician Sunny Deol, and Union Ministers Hardeep Puri and Harsimrat Kaur Badal.
A separate event will also be held on the other side of the border by Pakistan and Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan will declare it open from the other side of Kartarpur Corridor.
Modi will also inaugurate a “passenger terminal building” known as Integrated Check post where the pilgrims will be getting clearance to travel through the newly built corridor.
Modi offered prayers at Ber Sahib Gurudwara at Sultanpur Lodhi before the inauguration. He will also be participating in a public programme at Dera Baba Nanak after the inauguration.
