Digital Desk: The Chhattisgarh government has declared "bagless days" in schools on Saturday, during which yoga, physical activity, sports, and cultural events will be organized in schools, an official stated on Thursday.
Reportedly, the initiative has been introduced to make learning in schools more engaging and productive.
"On Saturdays, schools will host yoga, fitness, sports, and cultural activities. The action will awaken children's curiosity and will support their continued participation in school. Children will enjoy and learn from their school experience," added the official.
"District education officers have been instructed to implement the plan as soon as possible. For pupils in Classes 1 through 8, exercise, yoga, sports competitions, literary-cultural events, value-education, art-education, etc. will be organized in schools," he said.
The principals will be required to schedule activities for each Saturday of the month and display them on notice boards. Moreover, students' work will also be showcased on Saturdays, the official said.
