Their baby girl survived, and her birth "gives us the strength to live this time with some hope and happiness," they both stated.
They penned a heartfelt note saying, "You are our angel, our baby boy. We will always love you."
"It is with our deepest grief that we must report that our newborn boy has passed away," they stated in a message on social media.
Ronaldo and his girlfriend Georgina wrote a post saying, "We are all crushed by this loss, and we respectfully want privacy during this terrible time."
In October, the couple announced their pregnancy.

Team Player Marcus Rashford also tweeted: "Thoughts are with you and Georgina, brother. I'm so sorry."
Real Madrid, Ronaldo's former club, stated the club, its president, and board of directors were "deeply grieved," adding that the club "shares in the family's anguish and wishes to send them all of our warmth."
Cristiano Jr., Ronaldo's son, was born in 2010, while twins Eva and Mateo, Ronaldo's daughters, were born in 2017. He and Rodriguez have a daughter, Alana Martina, born in 2017.
