Digital Desk: On Thursday, an earthquake of 7.1 magnitudes struck New Zealand's Kermadec Islands region, prompting Tsunami warnings.
According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), the quake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometres (6.21 miles). Following the earthquake, a tsunami warning was issued, it added.
Following media reports in New Zealand, suitable rescue measures would be issued in the region. But, there is no Tsunami threat to Australia, according to a tweet from the country's Department of Meteorology.
An earthquake of magnitude 6.9 had rocked the same Kermadec Islands region earlier on March 4, with the quake depth measured at 152 km (94 miles), according to the USGS.
The magnitude of the earthquake was reported to be 6.6 at a depth of 183 kilometres, according to the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre. After the tremor on March 4, no tsunami warning was issued.
Additionally, People in Turkey, who have also been devastated by earthquakes and flash floods, have called for action and prayers.
