    Over 5 lakh Afghans likely to leave Country due to the Afghanistan-Taliban crisis: UNHCR

    Kabul: The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) on Saturday evaluated that 500,000 Afghans will leave the country in the next four months due to political instability after the Taliban took over the war-torn country.





    As per the report of UNHCR, so far, there has been mass migration following the collapse of the former Afghanistan government to the Taliban.





    Deputy High Commissioner, Kelly T Clements, stated, "At this point we didn't see large outflows of Afghans, but the situation inside Afghanistan has evolved more rapidly than anyone expected."





    Moreover, the UNHCR appeal to all the neighboring countries to keep their borders open for the Afghan refugees.





    The World Food Programme (WFP) requests the United Nations to dispense the organization with USD 12 million to provide food for needy Afghans, a report said.





    The Afghan citizens' said the political instability, security issues, and unemployment had forced them to leave the country.





    Moreover, a score of Afghan women asserted, they were uncertain about their future. They have studied and worked hard, but now they don't know what is written in their destiny.
