    UN: Balochistan Faces Food Emergency for about 500,000 peoples

    New York: United Nations Humanitarians said Pakistan’s Balochistan province, which was hit by severe winter, drought-like conditions, and locust invasion and over that covid-19 now faces a food emergency for about 500,000 people.





    According to the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs of the UN office stated, “Over 500,000 people are facing emergency level of food crises while another 100,000 people want instant life-saving support. The main source of the people in the affected area for livelihood are crops and livestock which has come under threat.”





    Moreover, the Meteorology department foresees that drought-like conditions can occur at the end of the year for Southwestern Balochistan, which borders Iran and Afghanistan.





    From October 2020 to May 2021, low rainfall in parts of Balochistan province severely affected the people.
